This is a high-level advisory role within a sophisticated People and Operations division, designed for an Industrial Relations specialist who thrives in managing complex corporate functions within a large-scale public sector environment. The Workplace Relations team facilitates the resolution of issues through expert advice, working closely with HR Business Partners, Work Health and Safety teams, and divisional managers. This AO6 appointment is ideal for a specialist seeking a team environment that actively supports professional growth and future leadership opportunities.

Core Responsibilities
- Independently manage serious matters including diminished performance, disciplinary action, misconduct, and employee grievances.
- Provide expert guidance on the interpretation of industrial instruments, departmental policies, and relevant legislation.
- Research and produce high-quality technical documents, including briefing papers, executive reports, and formal correspondence.
- Facilitate professional relationships with Union stakeholders, governmental agencies, and internal business partners.
- Plan and implement projects focused on enhancing workplace relations management practices across the service.
Candidate Profile
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the Queensland Public Sector or a large-scale government environment is highly regarded.
- Proven expertise in navigating diverse workplace relations challenges and managing end-to-end industrial cases.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels and resolve multifaceted issues.
- High-level consultative and negotiation skills to manage expectations and resolve conflict.
- Proficiency in managing complex cases and implementing structured industrialised solutions.
- Strong research capabilities to address and interpret multifaceted workplace issues.
- High-level ability to interpret and apply complex government frameworks, directives, and governing instruments.
- While not mandatory, a relevant degree in Law or Human Resources is highly regarded.
